Nation of Hawaii challenges First Hawaiian Bank

In 1996 the Nation of Hawai`i challenged First Hawaiian Bank on several related issues, concerning systematic discrimination against Native Hawaiian communities and violation of federal anti-trust laws. Protests have been filed with the Federal Reserve Bank in San Francisco and the Department of Justice, under Article XVII (Transitional Provisions) of the Hawaii Constitution.
